What hybrid-d77 is

hybrid-d77 is Chimera Linux with a Wayland session already set up: packages chosen, configuration files written, a wallpaper, an installer and a few helper tools. Underneath it is a regular Chimera system: apk, dinit, a BSD userland (chimerautils) on a Linux kernel, and Chimera’s main and user repositories.

Variants

Two ISOs are built from the same tree. The base is the same; only the session differs:

Sway niri
Compositor Sway (tiling) niri (scrollable tiling)
Bar Waybar Utumno (Quickshell)
Launchers wmenu, fuzzel Utumno
Lock screen swaylock Utumno
Power menu fuzzel-power-menu Utumno
Notifications SwayNotificationCenter SwayNotificationCenter
ISO hybrid-d77-live-x86_64-DATE-sway.iso hybrid-d77-live-x86_64-DATE-niri.iso

See the Sway and niri pages. The niri variant is the newer one: its ISO builds and its configuration is validated, but it has not been booted on real hardware yet.

hybrid-d77 is built for x86_64 only.

What both variants have

How it differs from installing Chimera yourself

Plain Chimera hybrid-d77
Base system the same the same
Desktop you install and configure it installed and configured
Installer chimera-installer h77-installer, a patched chimera-installer with partitioning, file systems, network, keymap, groups and services steps; or Mocinha
Extra packages none hybrid-d77’s own, from its GitHub release

Everything else, such as apk, dinitctl, doas and the Chimera documentation, works as on plain Chimera.
